Grammy Award Winning Recording Engineer
In 2004, Jim got his first taste of the prestigious Grammy Awards. A soundtrack for a Miramax movie that Jim worked on won a Grammy in the category Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media. That movie also won 13 Oscars, including one for Best Sound.
In 2013, Jim received his second recognition from the Academy with the Marc Anthony smash hit, "Vivir Mi Vida". Jim received a Grammy Award for Record of the Year. The song also won Billboard Music Awards for Latin Pop Song of the Year and Tropical Song of the Year in 2014. As well as a Lo Nuestro Award for Tropical Song of the Year in 2014.
Jim's pleasant demeanor and vast organizational skills have earned him the reputation of an engineer that people want working on their project. His constant pursuit for perfection shows in his work. He also spends vast amounts of his spare time working with companies seeking to improve and push the limits of recording technologies. Helping to find ways to make the recording process seamless for musicians so that the creativity can flow without interruption. He has been on the forefront of the experimental remote recording process that has contributed to the success of many albums. One such album is Iconos. A 2010 release by Marc Anthony that is a collection of traditional Latin songs performed by Marc.
Jim also spends time designing studios. Often being asked to bring his innovative ideas to fruition. He has designed and built studios owned by Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Cory Rooney, as well as many others. His pride and joy is his own studio, Logos Recording Studios, which is located in Massapequa, NY. This is where he spends most of his time, working with everything from Major Label clients to NYSMA students. Logos studios has been described by a legendary record executive as "incredible sounding", "affordable" and "comfortable".
Jim currently is listed as an Apogee Symphony Artist as well as having received a few other endorsements from companies such as Source Elements and 2Q.
